The future of grasslands

Global change is a change in the planetary process of Earth's system and all resources and life.

The future of grasslands is unsure. With the current change in climate the grasslands are going to struggle more and more. With longer dry seasons increasing the potential for large fires and decreasing the chance of returning post fire with lack of water this opens a niche for other species to move in as a more arid environment potentially changing the ecosystem indefinitely. This could be detrimental to the survival of native grasses. This also changes the soil composition and overall will effect the agriculture of the lands. With overgrazing being an ever growing concern the decreased grasslands are in even more danger.
