Baker believes that looking at fire scars in order to try and get a historical look at the fire regime of
an area is just too inaccurate simply because it has not proven to be accurate to date. He states that
many fire historians use a composite mean fire interval from fire scars to attempt to calculate fire
regimes from over a hundred years ago. Baker believes this data is flawed and incomplete as well as
includes too much guess work for this method to be accurate. As Fule states he blieves his method is
accurate Baker believes his data states otherwise.
